Known as May 1st Labor Day, it is considered a paid holiday. Traditionally, the Egyptian President presided over the official May Day celebrations in Cairo; however, due to the President’s case, according to the 2011 Revolution and the corruption charges faced by state-controlled heads, the National Trade Unions Union (Egyptian Federation of Trade Unions) The celebration of 2011 was organized by an independent trade union (organized under the banner of Unity as an independent trade union federation of Egypt) for the first time since 1952.
